Technique
The more touches on the ball, the more ways you pass and receive, the faster and more accurate
you become technically – repetition theory!
Ball Touches
Players will be touching the ball every five seconds, all drills will be done with a ball
Ball Control
With limited space players will develop faster, precise and more accurate ball control
Encouraged Learning
Since the court is way smaller, all aspects of the game will be developed each day
Speed of Play
No hesitation on creating the plays, faster running ball, 4 second restart rule, players learn to
think and play faster
Continuity of Play
No standing still, on and off plays, players must stay focused, participating and constantly
moving on all plays, create channels to combine passes, develop possession
Knowledge
All defensive and attacking principles are developed, wiser decision making and awareness
Framing the Goal
Lots of opportunities to shoot on goal placing and toe kicking
Communication
Players interaction is way more intense, body language, eye contact, signs, talking
Mandatory Support
No walls to bounce balls to and dribbling “restricted”, players must make supporting
runs when their teammates have the ball
Fun
The fast pace each game brings, kids are more engaged and consequently will see improvements faster.
It is fun, I want to do this!
Creativity
With not too much space available, players must develop ways to create unpredictable plays-Ginga
Responsibility
Coach will bring a topic each day, train for 30 minutes and play for one hour. Games will be
set for 5 minutes or two goals with only 10 players playing each game. All Futsal rules applied during all
games. The players sitting will be busy watching the game, listening to coach’s instructions, corrections or
compliments and/or doing a task with the ball as needed. Players will come in to learn, listen, be creative,
behave accordingly and apply all drills and skills during training/game time.
